Faceted Bead Art Gazette August 3, 2007 Issue #0044 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This month I have spent a lot of my time at TheBeadCoop.com. I have been a part of this site since February 2003. I was invited to join the group of designers by Nancy, designer name: Florabeader's Victorian Flowers. I am presently a part of the Customer Service team, Head of the Egg Hunt game and Webmaster. Besides uploading lots of new Peyote/Brick/Loom patterns this month, I have been working through the coding to help the site run even smoother and I would love feedback. If you are an avid beader, this is the site for you. There are thousands of patterns for all stitch types, and if you don't see something you are looking for, just let them know - the designers love to fill requests. Be sure to open an account with them. It is free, and you will then be able to create your own Gallery (free of charge) to show off your work or even open a Member Mall (small fee applies) to sell some of those extra pieces. If you already have a site where you sell pieces, then you can create a Classified Ad or Auction Link for a small fee. Fun Stuff includes the Egg Hunt. This little game was started by Alan Greyowl and then was integrated into a full site game. Each month an image of an egg is added to a different pattern's thumbnail image and everyone who finds it is entered into a drawing with 3 winners per month. Next, there is the Pattern of the Month. This is a collection of 5 never-before-listed patterns. It is a great way to get new patterns at one low price. And then they have an occasional Bead Contest. Hopefully they will be able to have them more often, as bead contests can be a lot of fun. If you have any suggestions, things you have liked or disliked about other bead contests you have taken part in, they would love to hear from you.
