The price of polystyrene, the resin used in most of our popular beads and related items, has risen substantially since the first of the year. Our suppliers have said that there is no relief in sight. In fact all indications are the price will continue to rise. I'm sure that you are aware that trucking companies are imposing fuel surcharges and the cost of shipping cartons and insurance have risen substantially as well. While THE BEADERY© will continue to try and find ways to take the cost out of our products through innovation and automation, we must raise our prices across the board ... effective October 1, 2004 to help offset a small amount of our cost increases. We are sending this notice early to help you plan your future purchases. ... Thank you for understanding and for being a valued and loyal BEADERY© customer. ----- Due to this, I am presently evaluating and preparing for the price increase. I too am sending you this notice, so that you may get any planned purchases in before the prices are raised. Price increases are planned for sometime in October 2004.
