Faceted Bead Art Gazette November 3, 2006 Issue #0036 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am presently doing a lot of beading for a show this month. I find that after doing a lot of beading my fingertips start to get sore from holding one bead after another. Now this may not be a problem with the tiny beads, but do any of you have this problem when working with the 4mm beads, and have you any nifty solutions for this problem. Now mind you, I am not complaining. I just want to be able to bead more, and not have to take breaks every so often. Any ideas are welcome. This year, I am back to homeschooling my daughter. It can be quite challenging at times, like anything, but fun too. I decided to use the A Beka DVD homeschooling course this time around. This has turned out to be perfect for several reasons. First, I have a teacher to work along with me. She teaches the subject, and I answer my daughter's questions afterwards. This is working great for me. Second, now that I have an idea how each subject runs, I can bead while the instructor teaches. I just sit there beading, with remotes handy for those times when I need to pause the teacher and make sure the student is listening. As with all jobs, there is some prep. However, A Beka homeschooling is so organized that I find I can get all the prep done in about a half hour before school starts at 9 am. So, should any of you ever decide to homeschool, you can still bead. It is time to get ready for the holidays.
