Faceted Bead Art Gazette October 5, 2005 Issue #0023 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For those of you who like to work with the Czech Fire-Polished Glass Beads, I have good news. These beads work great with the Beaded Doily patterns (http://www.facetedbeadart.com/beaded-doily.html). I wanted to enter one of these Beaded Doilies into the Fire Mountain Gems Beading Contest (http://www.firemountaingems.com/beading_contest_05.asp). One of the rules was I had to use items they sold, so that meant I had to use either Crystal or Glass beads. As the Crystal beads cost more, I opted to use the Czech Glass Beads. I chose to use pattern d0010, and it came out beautiful.  I made 1 Large and 4 Small matching doilies. The cost of the glass beads was $55.81 (from Fire Mountain Gems http://www.firemountaingems.com/glassbeads.asp) and I have quite a few beads left over. String to use: either 10lb fishing line or Invisible Bead Cord (available at Fire Mountain Gems http://www.firemountaingems.com/shopping.asp?skw=KWCORDOTHERINVIS), which is equivalent to 8 lb fishing line.
