Faceted Bead Art Gazette August 31, 2007 Issue #0045 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I started FacetedBeadArt, I focused most of my designing on 4mm plastic faceted beads. I am now adjusting this focus to 4mm crystal bicone beads. For these Crystal Bead Patterns, I am planning a line of Small, Medium, Large and Long Suncatchers. As well as, my existing line of bracelets, pendants and earrings. I hope to also start a line of small decorative windsocks. All to be created with 4mm crystal bicone beads. NEW! Crystal Bead Suncatcher Patterns    Left to Right: Long Suncatcher, Medium Suncatcher, "New Life" Pendant made into a Suncatcher, Small Suncatcher, Large Suncatcher I had hoped one day to see the popularity of the 4mm plastic faceted beads increase. This has proved not to be the case. For starters, I do not sell a great number of them from my site. Then, this week, I received the newest price list from my supplier. The list of available colors, in the 4mm sizes, had dropped from 26 to 19, even in the bulk size. One of the colors dropped was Jet. This was quite a blow to me, as it is a vital colors for creating picture patterns. I could still create patterns for the 4mm plastic faceted beads, but this knowledge has made me see that a new focus may be the best course of action. (This color drop may not be true of all suppliers. But as I recommend The Beadery's beads, I must go by what they have available.) I know that the crystal beads are already popular, used quite a bit in jewelry making. Also, I have been considering making a line of suncatchers in the crystal beads for a while. So I feel it is best to go with what is readily available and continue to create without any hindrances. So keep an eyes out for a new line and a new site focus. Before this new focus was established, I had created some new patterns and even came up with a new pattern layout. This new layout can be seen in this month's Complimentary pattern.
