Faceted Bead Art Gazette October 6, 2007 Issue #0046 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tammy and I have found a new craft supplier, Bolek's Craft Supplies. They have all the colors we use in our patterns (including Jet), plus a few more. This is good news for us, as Tammy and I enjoy creating all the patterns that call for 4mm plastic faceted beads. So keep an eye out for new designs and possibly the use of a few new colors. Another advantage to Bolek's Craft Supplies, is I will have a new source for beads. Why do I need a new bead craft supplies source? My husband and I have decided to dissolve the bead selling side of FacetedBeadArt.com. So, as I run out of the supplies I now have, I will no longer be selling the plastic faceted beads. I shall get my plastic faceted beads from Bolek's and continue to get my Crystal beads from Fire Mountain Gems. Even though Bolek's has been on my links page for a long time, I personally had not used them for 2 reasons. 1) I carried the plastic faceted beads myself. 2) They do not have the best online ordering system. I am kind of lazy, and without a good online ordering system, I have just passed them up time and again. Now that I need a supplier, especially for the Jet color, I decided to give them a try. I found that their Customer Service is good and their Shipping time is fast (both orders I placed arrived within a weeks time). I do have one suggestion for you, when you place your first order, get a Color Chart. Why a Color Chart? To save you money, Bolek's uses generic bags for all their beads. This means that the bags do not tell you what color of bead it holds. This only becomes a problem if you order colors that are similar - such as pink & baby pink or champagne & lt champagne. The Color Chart will enable you to determine what color each bag contains. The Color Chart contains 1 of each color in 8mm faceted beads. After getting this Color Chart, I thought it would be nice to have a Color Chart that used the 4mm faceted beads, as that is what I use. So I created one. I liked the out come so much, that I will be providing it at my site. This Color Chart will have only the 4mm Transparent Colors. It will contain 9 beads of each color and will be sold for $2.00. I will be including a Bolek's order form set-up for ordering the 4mm faceted beads. I hope this will be useful to those who wish to order beads for creating any of my patterns. Are here!
