~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Faceted Bead Art Gazette July 1, 2004 Issue #0009 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am presently in the process of creating the instructional e-book and 2 patterns. They are scheduled to be released August 1st. I want to thank you all for your input, and I would like to give a special thanks to Tammy and Sandra for their excellent questions and suggestions. I believe, with all your input, this first edition of the instruction e-book will be very informative and helpful. If you have not yet filled out the Beaded Curtain Pattern Survey, please use the following link to do so now... Survey is now closed, thank you for your input I look forward to hearing from you. I am also working up bulk prices for the 1500 pcs. bags. The bulk pricing will save you 10 - 30% off the current price, which should help since the curtains call for a large number of beads. And to further help, I will be breaking down the number of beads per color needed by strands (12 strands at a time). This way, you will be able to figure out what you will need as you go. All prices will still include Shipping (to US) and any other fees. So, the price you see is the price you pay. The curtain I am presently creating is coming along. Unfortunately, I am unable to give it as much time as I would like. But soon my daughter's homeschooling will be done and I should be able to devote more time to the curtain. Also, during the process of beading this curtain I have discovered that the strands do twist and turn. The only disadvantage I see in this is that some of the patterns I was planning may not look right. Patterns with small details (such as eyes) may look distorted. So, I will be starting with patterns that have larger details (at least until I get a chance to test the other). Your input on the survey has come in very handy. It has helped me to create 3 categories for my beaded curtains. 1) PATCHWORK & PATTERN CURTAINS These patterns will be the least expensive and will permit you to create curtains of various dimensions. Why the least expensive? Because they will be small patterns that you will either repeat (patterns) or combine (patchwork) to create curtains of all sizes. It's like "You Pick'em Strawberries." You will be doing more work than if I created a large pattern and all you did was bead it. 2) DOORWAY CURTAINS These patterns will be created to fit most doorways width wise. All you will need to do is extend the background color to reach from the top of the door frame to the floor. I will have the major part of the pattern done for you. 3) LARGE & CUSTOMIZABLE CURTAINS These are what I originally planned to do, "picture patterns" that can be customized to fit a wide variety of spaces. I would be doing most of the work, leaving you with the decision of what color background to use to fit your decor. I will be discussing all your creating options in the instructional e-book.
